Horse Sitting

What?

Do you need or want to go away on family vacation or business trip?
But worry about who will take care of your perfect horses? If we lived in a perfect world, we would clone our selves and have our clone do it. Instead we ask the neighbours to throw some hay over the fence, or our friend who ows us that favor for looking after their pesky cat last christmas! Do you then worry that maybe your beloved pony isnt in the best of hands? Instead I can offer you the chance to go away with peace of mind, knowing your equines life will carry on as normal.

Freelance Equine Services offers you the chance to go away but still have your horse cared for in the exact way in which you ask, allowing your equines routine to remain unchanged. Coming to your stables, yard or barn, several times a day and providing constant care while you are away.

Why?

Moving your horses to a livery yard and changing their routine, causes stress, which can result in a reduced immune system efficiency leaving your horse more susceptible to infections and illness.

Also being a verterinary technician and having extensive equine experience I can recognize early signs of illness, disease or infection. I am trained in and can provide injections and medications, and provide first aid including bandaging and wound treatments.

And you can feel totally at ease with live updates either by phone, text, email, fax etc...as often as you desire. Yes even ten times a day if required!

While you are away…

Freelance Equine Services will take care of your beloved equine exactly as you dictate. This can include as much or as little pampering, exercising, loving (and pretty much anything else you can think of), as you wish. I will sit down with you before you go so we can figure out the exact daily routeen you want.

An Example of daily requested care….

7:00am: Feed (with carrots) and 2 hay nets, with fresh bucket of water.
7:45am: Take off stable rug, replace with Newzeeland rug; Turn out in Pasture with buddies.

12:00pm: Bring in and through groom, go for 1 hour hack down lane through woods
1:30pm: hose down, dry off, give carrots then back out in pasture with buddies

5:00pm: Bring in, change of rugs, feed and 2 haynets. Change water
5:30pm: Remove empty feed bucket, tuck in to bed!

Freelance equine services will continue taking care of your animals until we received conformation from you that you are home and have checked on the horses. This will prevent any discontinuity in care, and make sure your equine doesn't miss their dinner due to delayed flights or traffic jams.
